Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The question for the particular position in world and the "disposition of man" ("what is the human being?") is a central topic of philosophy. In this four-hour compulsory lecture, the main features of a Philosophical Anthropology shall be developped in a systematical view after an overview of the philosophical lesson of the human in the european philosophy.

In a closing part of the lecture, special topics of philosophical Anthropology will be highlighted against the background of present scientific and social challenges (modern biosciences, neurobiology).

Assessment and permitted materials

Written examination, or on demand also oral examination during consultation-hour.

Introduction to main positions and questions of Philosophical Anthropology.
