Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

In this lecture, which builds on the basic course Anthropology I but is not a prerequisite, the first part deals with the criticism of “philosophical anthropology” of the 20th century (the humanism controversy between Sartre, Heidegger and Foucault, theories about the end of man, transhumanism). In the second part, specific areas of philosophical anthropology will be dealt with in the light of theoretical debates in a multi-perspective form (e.g. nature and history, birth and death, individuality and sociality, determinism and freedom, corporeality and gender, work and play).
Method: Lecture with opportunity for discussion and material sheets.

Assessment and permitted materials

Written exams. The exam is usually held in German, although English and Spanish are feasible if needed.
Exams in presence, handwritten. Please write as clearly as possible, in complete sentences, and extensive.
Address the keywords in the question, which also creates an argumentative arc.
It is not possible to cancel the test at the beginning once you have received the exam sheet.
Four exam dates: one at the end of June / begin of July, and at the beginning, middle and end of winter semester.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
