    Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

    Content:

The media ethics exercise serves to apply the knowledge acquired in the lecture "Communication and Media Ethics" independently and practically using examples. The aim is to deal with (ethical) discourses in practice, whereby the focus is on the one hand on developing content and on the other hand on expanding skills in the area of shaping one's own discourse and dealing with media.

    Objectives:

The aim of the exercise is to teach and acquire reflection and evaluation skills in the field of media ethics. The exercise should enable students to recognize media ethical issues and challenges, to analyze and reflect on them on the basis of ethical principles. Possible ways of dealing with them/suggestions for solutions should also be developed. Ultimately, the exercise should help students to critically question and evaluate their own behavior in dealing with (social) media.

    Method:

Various didactic formats (e.g. research, case discussion, reflection, excursion, interview) are used to deal with media ethics topics. In the first unit, groups are formed for this purpose, which are to complete the group-related tasks together for the duration of the semianr. The individual partial performances of the thinking diary and the final written reflection serve to personally deepen the media ethics reflection and evaluation skills.
