Aims, contents and method of the course

Content: The course will examine Old Testament biblical theology from the perspective of Anglo-American scholarship. In this course, we will read through and discuss Walter Bruegemann’s Theology of the Old Testament as an influential voice of American biblical theology.

Objectives:
• Increase familiarity with Anglo-American biblical scholarship of the Old Testament
• Improve English language proficiency in an academic or classroom setting

Method: Discussions, presentations, secondary literature reading.

Assessment and permitted materials

Class Participation (20%)
Three Book Chapter Summaries (30%)
Presentation of a Text (20%)
Final Book Review (30%)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Prerequisite: Moderate English language proficiency (writing/speaking)

Regular attendance, active participation, presentation, seminar work.
