    Aims, contents and method of the course

    From Paul to Ignatius of Antioch, there are different concepts of community in early Christianity. The aim of this seminar is to examine these concepts, shed light on their contemporary backgrounds, and explore their possible reception today. The seminar will focus primarily on source texts, while at the same time drawing on various recent research perspectives.

    Assessment and permitted materials

    The course requires the design of a seminar unit (2 ECTS), participation during the seminar (1 ECTS) and the completion of a seminar paper (2 ECTS).

    Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

    Participation and preparation 20%, quality of the seminar unit 40%, quality of the seminar paper 40%. Each part of the course must be completed and receive a positive grade.

    Examination topics

    The seminar paper should focus on the topic of the seminar unit; the number of characters will be announced in the first session.
