Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
The examination is carried out in the form of an oral examination (20 min.); no aids are allowed.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Students should be able to name and describe central topics and developments in response to generalizing questions about the lecture material. A subject area can be chosen as a starting point.
Examination topics
The students gained an in-depth insight into the events, developments and themes of the history of Christianity between 450 and 1450 AD.

The lecture is evaluated with 4 ECTS (1 ECTS = 25 h working time):
The attendance of the lecture (about 14 units of 1.5 h) or respective own reading results in (just) 1 ECTS.
The lecture is accompanied by further reading tasks (per unit/topic both source texts and secondary literature [about one essay of 10-20 p.)], which serve to deepen and secure what has been heard (about 3-4 h = 2 ECTS).
Exam preparation: 1 ECTS.
