Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Objective:
Students will be able to independently analyse New Testament texts using the methods of historical-critical exegesis presented in the seminar and bring them into discussion with newer approaches to textual analysis (e.g. reception history, gender, post-colonial perspective).
Contents:
Historical-critical method and newer approaches to biblical studies of the text
Methods:
Lecture by the teachers
Independent reading of selected literature
Regular preparation of homework exercises
Joint discussion of homework exercises
Group assignments

Assessment and permitted materials

Bachelor or proseminar thesis (written)

Collaboration (presentation of interim results of own work or individual methodological steps on Moodle and in the seminar)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Composition of a written paper according to the specifications and formal guidelines announced in the proseminar (70%)
Presentation of interim results in the proseminar and on Moodle (30%)
Attendance (two excused absences are possible)
