Aims, contents and method of the course
Objectives: Knowledge of the central perspectives of reflection in preaching theory. Acquisition and testing of one's own position within the homiletical debate on the basis of exemplary cases. Homiletical practice tests.Content: This course introduces the central challenges of the theory and practice of preaching. The following elements of the homiletic communication process are central: (1) persons, (2) texts and traditions, (3) language and communication, (4) situations and (constructed) human life reality.Method: Individual reading of relevant literature (for seminar preparation), group work and discussion, expert statements, case-based sermon analysis (text/video) and practice sequences.
