Assessment and permitted materials
A presentation must be given as part of the seminar (2 ECTS). In addition, there are compulsory readings and preparations (1.5 ECTS). And finally, a seminar paper will have to be written (1.5 ECTS).
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Minimum requirements: Fulfillment of all required partial performances, regular attendance.
Assessment criteria: Preparation of the seminar sessions 30%, participation in the seminar 30%, presentation and seminar paper 40%.
Each performance must be positive.

Secondly, those participants who attend the seminar as a BA seminar "Problems in the History of Early Christianity" should acquire basic knowledge about early Christianity in Rome, i.e. with regard to the New Testament and other early Christian texts, with regard to the reconstructable beginnings and history of early Christianity and with regard to the social environment in the 1st and 2nd centuries.
Thirdly, students should learn how to answer a research question.
And fourthly, students will practice presenting their own research work in presentations and discussions.
