Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Objective: Knowledge of empirical methods, data collection and analysis.
Content: Empirical Methods: Methods for data collection (observation, interview, written survey) and data analysis (Grounded Theory, Qualitative Content Analysis)

Assessment and permitted materials

Active participation, short presentation, research paper (10 pages), often (but not necessarily) on an independently conducted research project under the supervision of the instructor. The paper can be written gradually through the course.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Minimum requirements: attendance (two absences are permitted, alternative task by arrangement with the instructor), active participation, short presentation, writing of a research paper.
Grading: The grade is calculated as follows: 50% seminar paper, 25% active participation, 25% presentation.
Each part requires a positive performance.
Please note: Attendance at the first meeting on 5.3.19 is required.

Examination topics

Readings, presentations, discussions, work in small groups.
