Aims, contents and method of the course
Basics of IT, theory of information, lawyer’s IT environment, Internet, legal information retrieval, legal knowledge representation (mark-up languages, automation of law), search techniques in Austrian and European information systems, legal applications (courts, law office, government), legal problems of information technology (data protection, intellectual property, e-government, e-justice etc.)
Assessment and permitted materials
Written exam (open book), on-line tests, participation, short presentation
