Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This course aims at introducing students to topics of public international law that are of an essential importance. There will be a focus on the following topics: sources of international law, the relationship between international law and domestic law, immunities, the law of diplomatic protection, the use of force and international economic law.
Each topic will be examined through case studies.

Assessment and permitted materials

1. Written exams: there will be two written exams. The results of these exams form the grad of this course. Students are required to contribute to the discussion in class. By doing so on at least four occasions, the overall grad can improved.
2. Permitted materials: treaty texts

The overall grade is based on the written exams and can be improved by oral participation in class
