Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The seminar is aimed at students at an advanced stage of their studies; it is not suitable for first-year students. The treaties concluded after the First World War in the Parisian suburbs of Versailles, St. Germain-en-Laye, Neuilly-sur-Seine, Trianon and Sèvres, their prehistory and consequences will be dealt with in individual presentations. The topics range from the founding of the League of Nations to the partition of Tyrol and the Carinthian defensive struggle to the fate of the Kurds and Armenians after 1918.

Assessment and permitted materials

Seminar participants are required to give a 20-minute presentation (14/15 June) and to write a paper (by 31 July).
