After completing the course, students will have acquired knowledge about the special features of mediation in the public sector, concepts of conflict management, conflict transformation and post-mediation.
They understand the special characteristics of mediation in the public sector using the example of mediation at Vienna Airport. The course provides an understanding of the various difficulties that are associated with mediating in the public sector.

- Best Practice Mediation Procedure Vienna Airport (2000-2005)
- Vienna Airport Dialogue Forum Association, history, crises, challenges
- Difference between mediation and environmental impact assessment procedures (EIA)
- Citizen participation and genuine participatory processes for sustainable development at social, ecological, economic and legal level
- Reconciliation of interests for the economy, politics and the population within the framework of the Vienna Airport Dialogue Forum, conflict is "set in stone". The Dialogue Forum is seen internationally as a perfect example of successful post-mediation, which works because all interest groups are involved and through this
long-term support, an important contribution is made to social peace in the region.
- Other mediation processes and post-mediations of selected airports as well as the conflict management systems of different airports are studiedMethod:
