Topics include the historical evolution and doctrinal foundation of ICL; the concept of individual criminal responsibility; genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes, the crime of aggression; enforcement mechanisms on national and international levels, with a special emphasis on the International Criminal Court; transitional justice.
The course will be taught interactively, using a combination of lectures and class discussions.
