The seminar is dedicated to the development of legal methods since the 19th century. We will deal with the intellectual history of legal methods and their legal-cultural contexts and implications. Even in the three German-speaking legal cultures of Austria, Switzerland, and Germany, there are significant differences in the methodological traditions—the seminar invites you to explore these and to include further legal cultures in the reflection.
