Aims, contents and method of the course

General topics in the field of international law will be dealt with on the basis of cases. The most important topics are: the sources of international law, the subjects of international law, the international regime for the protection of human rights, the rules governing international relations, the law of state responsibility.
Acquisition of knowledge in the field of international law, its relation to domestic law and its importance in international relations.

Assessment and permitted materials

Oral participation (30%) and 2 written exams (70%)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The respective topics in the field of international law will be discussed on the basis of cases. Detailed requirements for a positive grade will be determined together with the participants. Active oral participation is required.

Examination topics

International law, with special focus on the topics dealt with in class.
