Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Students will gain an overview of the evolution and structure of international and European environmental law. In an inverted classroom setting, students will elaborate the procedural and liability regimes as well as the sectoral areas of international and European environmental law: air, ozone, climate, freshwater, oceans, biodiversity, and hazardous substances.
Assessment and permitted materials
1. Group presentation: Demonstrated preparation of select topics of international and European environmental law making up 70% of the final course mark.2. Class participation: This will include participation in discussions worth 30% of the final course mark.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
A sound understanding of the fundamentals and sectoral areas of international and European environmental law.
Examination topics
Current status of international and European environmental law (documents and academic debate), discussion of current events and initiatives.
