Aims, contents and method of the course

Introduction to legal methodology and to the work on legal cases in Constitutional Law/Civil Law/Criminal Law. Attendance is compulsory during the whole course; absence in one unit is permissible.

Assessment and permitted materials

One written exam and regular oral participation.
The exam (jointly for all courses - Constitutional Law, Civil Law, Criminal Law) will take place at the end of the course, December 15th (exact time will be announced). If required, the exam can be repeated a few days later, on December 21st.
Unannotated editions of relevant statutes, handwritten annotations are not permitted.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Attendance of the first unit is compulsory. For oral participation in each unit, a (+) will be awarded.
The assessment of the course is based on a written test an oral participation.

Examination topics

In each unit, cases will be provided in advance via moodle as a basis for discussions. Students are expected to prepare these cases in advance.
For a successful completion of the course, it is strongly advisable to study the recommended literature in advance in order to prepare the cases for the respective unit.
To successfully pass the exam, knowledge of the recommended literature and the cases discussed is indispensable.
