Aims, contents and method of the course
The course starts on 27. Mar and ends on 22. May 2023. The course offers an Introduction to legal methodology and to the work on legal cases in Criminal Law. Attendance is compulsory during the whole course; you may be absent once.
Assessment and permitted materials
One written exam and regular oral participation.
The written exam will take place (jointly for all APÜs - Constitutional Law, Civil Law, Criminal Law) on 26. May 2023. Date of repetition: 2. June 2023.
Permitted aids: Unannotated editions of relevant statutes, handwritten annotations are not permitted.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Attendance of the first unit is compulsory. For oral participation in each unit, a (+) will be awarded. A positive assessment of the course requires a successful pass of the written exam and active oral participation (minimum: two (+)).
Examination topics
In each unit, cases will be provided in advance via moodle as a basis for discussions. Students will have to prepare these cases.
For a successful completion of the course, it is strongly advisable to study the recommended literature in advance and to prepare the cases provided for the respective unit.
To successfully pass the exam, knowledge of the recommended literature and the cases discussed is indispensable.
