REGISTRATION:
via u:find/u:space within the deadline AND ADDITIONALLY also personal registration by e-mail to jasmin.malekpour@univie.ac.at stating the LV number (this also in the mail subject) and the matriculation number.

Places in the course will be allocated according to the time of the mail registration (fcfs)!

When the number of 30 registrations by e-mail is reached, the lecturers will place people on a waiting list according to the time of registration by email. At the end of the u:find/u:space registration period ALL u:find/u:space registrations are set to "waiting list" status by the SSC.

Only after the preliminary meeting (VB) those applicants who have actually been allocated a place because they have registered correctly (u:find/u:space AND email) and were present in the VB will be set to "registered" status.
For the waiting list and its ranking, only the list created by the lecturers is relevant and not a potential u:space waiting list place! (If you have been erroneously set to "registered" status by the SSC BEFORE the VB, this is irrelevant to the actual inclusion in the LV).

REGISTRATION: only until 3 days before the preliminary meeting at the latest

OBLIGATORY PARTICIPATION IN THE PRELIMINARY-MEETING:
Participation in the preliminary meeting is obligatory. If you are absent without a timely apology (1 day before the meeting), you will lose the already confirmed place in the course and it will be given to other interested parties who are already registered via u:find/u:space AND mail.

Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

In 2020, we celebrate the First Centennial that women have been
admitted to study and practice law in many „Western" countries. They play a vital role in all legal professions but are still
underrepresented in most of them.

The course "Women in Law - Contemporary Issues" analyzes the current situation of women in legal professions and raises awareness in female students and male allies for challenges and obstacles women face in their legal careers.

It focuses on 5 areas, which will be discussed in an interdisciplinary setting:
- bias: conscious or unconscious - creating awareness and dealing with it
- flexibility and agility: opportunities and threats of modern
working environments
- diversity / inclusion / intersectionality: going beyond gender
- threats: physical and mental health, multiple responsibilities, etc.
- reaching the top: overcoming career obstacles
