Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The seminar will address questions such as sovereignty in the Union, the “constitutional” quality of the Treaties, its federal structure, the emergence of the doctrines of supremacy and direct effect, and the role that the Union is supposed to play vis-à-vis wayward and backsliding Member States.
Assessment and permitted materials
Oral presentation on a topic of the seminar, seminar paper of roughly 12-15 pages, unless you decide to prepare a „Diplomseminararbeit“. The much more demanding requirements for the Diplomseminararbeit will be set out on the Moodle
page.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Compulsory attendance at all dates , Participation at the discussion. seminar paper of roughly 12-15 pages, unless you decide to prepare a „Diplomseminararbeit“. However, a "Diplomseminararbeit" can only be written after submission of a letter of motivation and consultation with Prof. Somek.
Examination topics
Papers of the presentations of the participants with subsequent discussion.
