Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
This class is intended to give an overview of European Community Law including its amendments under the Amsterdam and Nice Treaties. Ample time will be devoted to legal topics which are central to understanding the specific character of Community Law: The legislative process, the four freedoms, the doctrines of direct effect and supremacy of EC law, the role of the ECJ and the protection of fundamental rights. The course will further cover certain selected Community policies as well as EC competition law.

It will be based on discussing case excerpts which have to be read and studied by the students in advance.
