Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
1) There will be small weekly homeworks intended to check learning progress and preparation. The results count as class participation and will form part of your overall grade. If one ist not excused for class but is not answering questions (orally or written) when asked to participate or is not participating in small wirkgroups via Colleborate this will count as minus.2) There will be two exams.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
exam 1 = 20 points
exam 2 = 20 points

By the end of this course students will be able to give an overview of the most important Latin terms in legal studies. They will be capable of assigning technical terminology to thematic areas (Roman law: law of property, law of obligations, civil law, civil procedure, criminal law, international law and public law), and they will be able to define, contextualise and translate the Latin terms (Latin > German and German > Latin). The focus will lay in the feld of Roman Law.
