Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
This course offers an introduction to international investment and trade law. The fundamental rules concerning admission and treatment of foreign investment (especially expropriation and compensation) as well as the basic principles of the GATT, such as most favoured nation treatment, tariff reductions, national treatment, and the prohibition of quantitative restrictions will be discussed. Special attention will be given to dispute settlement, i.e. ICSID arbitration as well as the WTO dispute settlement system
