Aims, contents and method of the course

Advanced understanding of the history of colonialism and its relationship to law by using selected examples from all epochs since the early modern period.

Discussion of issues from global legal history based on source passages and secondary texts (drawing on legal and historical perspectives).

ERASMUS students are welcome in the course!

Assessment and permitted materials

Colloquium and participation in class.

ERASMUS students can take an oral exam in English or German.
