Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This course explores and critically analyses the levels and characteristics of organised crime in Austria also including relevant policies, laws and jurisprudence. The course covers criminological perspectives, international frameworks, criminal law provisions as well as relevant aspects of criminal procedure. The focus of the course is exclusively on the situation in Austria and on the criminal offences, their scale and consequences, methods and means, groups, perpetrators and the legal frameworks relating to organised crime.

Assessment and permitted materials

The assessment in this course, which is held in German language only, involves a presentation (40% of the final grade), a research paper (60%) and also takes into account the overall participation in and contributions to the main teaching days.
