Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Requirements:
Knowledge in private law at the level of StEOP MP Introduction to law and its methods.

Course content:
The students will learn how to deal with cases in private law and how to best provide written legal opinions. The areas of study are contracts, law of obligations, unjust enrichment, torts, basic principles of property.

After this class, students will be able to solve cases in private law and provide a written legal opinion using legal methods of reasoning. Then, they will be ready for advanced classes in private law.

Method:
Solving cases that are provided in advance on the online-plattform moodle. The students prepare the cases in advance in order to be prepared for class discussion. In class: Joint discussion under the guidance of the lecturer and guidance in providing a written opinion.

Students may use an uncommented code for the exam.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

-positive exam and class participation (2 times)

Class participation improves your grade
- 1 exam: 5 or more: better grade (only for positive exams)
- 2 exams: 2 or more: grades are rounded up

Classroom attendance is compulsory. Students who do not attend the first class are deregistered unless they provide a reasonable cause for their abscence. Students registered for the course will be graded, regardless of whether they participate or not.
