Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The goal of this course is to introduce students to Latin legal terminology, including semantics and common usage, both in Roman law (law of property and obligations), and modern law (public, international, criminal, private, procedural). Freshers without any knowledge of the Latin language are familiarized with the most important Latin legal terms still in use today and, by the end of the course, will be able to understand and use them appropriately.

Two written exams and participation in class

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Two exams have to be taken and the combined test scores have to be higher than 50% of the total.

Everything discussed in the sessions prior to the respective exam.
