Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Aims, contents and method of the courseThe subject matters of this intensive course are the legal foundations, the organisation, the competences and the procedures of the judicature of the European Union. In this context, the mechanisms of functioning, the methods of interpretation, the case law as well as current issues of reform of the EU judicature will be presented from the direct perspective and against the background of the practical experience of an EU judge.
Assessment and permitted materials
Assessment and permitted materialsAssessment will be made on the basis of one written exam at the end of the course and continuous active participation through positive oral contributions. At the final exam, the use of uncommented publications of EU legal texts (mere legal texts without annotations or references) is permitted. In the case of a pandemic lock-down, the final written examination shall be replaced by individual oral online examinations.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Attendance is compulsory and shall be constantly checked. In case of more than one unexcused absence the participant shall be deregistered. Minimum requirement for successful participation is a positive mark at the final exam. Besides that, constant active participation through positive oral contributions during the course improves the overall final grade.
Examination topics
Examination topicsExamination topics will be limited to matters effectively dealt with during the course.
