Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Introduction to the system and application of the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). Particular emphasis lies on the influences of different legal systems on the Convention and its development and interpretation. This course is compulsory for those participating in the “Moot Court International Commercial Arbitration”.

Assessment and permitted materials

Course content for the assessment: The Basics of the CISG.

Course assessment:
Written take-home exam: case discussion of a CISG case at the end of the course.

Type of materials allowed for the exam:
For the case discussion, students are encouraged to rely on different legal sources such as case law and literature.

Course validation:
Passing of the exam.
