Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The aim of the course is to convey an understanding of the normative and substantive specific system characteristics and the system context of European Union law. For this purpose, the elements of supranationality and the treaty objectives of the TEU as well as their interlocking in the legislation, application of law and case law in the fanning out of the substantive Union law of the TFEU are treated with reference to leading cases of legal practice.
Lecture, discussion and case solution.

Assessment and permitted materials

Written exam (written) + participation (oral). The use of treaty texts (TEU, TFEU) is permitted during the exam.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Attendance, participation and positively assessed written exam.
The basis of the assessment is the written exam, whose grade can be improved by one degree for the overall grade through oral participation. A lack of participation worsens the overall grade accordingly.

Examination topics

The subject of the exam is the content presented in the course.
