Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This course is designed to give students the opportunity to deal in depth with private law and private international law issues of economic sanctions such as embargoes or sanctions lists. The main focus of the seminar is the economic sanctions of the Western world against the Russian Federation and their impact on the international aspects of private economic law.

At the beginning of the course, students can choose a topic from a pool or alternatively propose a topic themselves. They then write a seminar paper of 15 to 20 pages (min. 50,000 characters incl. spaces and footnotes) on this topic. The main findings are to be presented in the course and then discussed in the plenum. The papers can be written in German or English.
