Aims of the course
The language of lawyers is very specific and the aim of the course is to ensure the students are able to comprehend the spoken and written English used in the legal world and operate in an international legal environment. The focus is the vocabulary and terminology of the English legal system. Students will discuss various branches of law, such as: company law, contract, employment, property, intellectual property, debtor-creditor. The topics covered in the sessions serve primarily to provide a realistic context for legal legal language skills training. The focus is on legal language; this is not a law course.
