Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The aim of this course is to provide students with the opportunity to study bank insolvency issues in depth. The seminar will focus on the legal problems of these insolvencies in a national, European and international context.

The students can either choose a topic from a pool or alternatively propose a topic on which to write a seminar paper of 15 to 20 pages (at least 50,000 characters including spaces and footnotes). The main results must be presented in class and then discussed in plenary. Papers may be written in English or German.

Assessment and permitted materials

written seminar paper; oral presentation with subsequent discussion

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The assessment criteria are, in particular, a comprehensive yet concise presentation of the topic, convincing focal point, argumentative strength, independent thoughts and compliance with formalities. In addition to the written work, the presentation and participation in the discussion of other participants' presentations can also positively influence the assessment.
