Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The goal of the course is to prepare students for participation in the PAX Moot Court Competition.

Students work in teams to draft two pleadings to resolve this year's issue. Preparation for the pleadings will be through presentation training and discussions with practitioners and experts.

Requirements for participation:

1. Good knowledge of English
2. Interest in Private International Law

REGISTRATION

Applications including a transcript of records, a CV and a letter of motivation should be sent to xaver.zimmermann-meinzingen@univie.ac.at by September 01 2023 at latest. In the second application round, you will be invited to a personal interview with the coaches. Shortly thereafter, the choice will be made who will be accepted into the PAX Moot Team of the University of Vienna.

Assessment and permitted materials

Joint research and drafting of the two memorials to be filed in March, as well as preparation of the oral pleadings. Use of all online and offline resources for drafting the briefs is expressly encouraged.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Course validation: Participation in both the written and oral phase of the Moot Court will be weighted equally
