Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This course is held in cooperation with Univ.-Prof. Oliver Kartak (University of Applied Arts) and Univ.-Prof. Peter Purgathofer (TU Wien).
The participants are collaborating with students of the University of Applied Arts and TU Wien to create icons according to Art 12 (7) GDPR, which can be used to provide data subjects with the necessary information pursuant to the GDPR.

In the first lecture (13 Nov 2019), five law students will brief the other participants on the basics of data protection law and information obligations according to the GDPR. They will then summarise their findings in a short paper/handout.
The other students then design, together with students of the University of Applied Arts, data protection icons and describe the icons and the creation process in a short paper. The Icons will be presented in the last lecture (11 Dec 2019) and rated by a jury.
