Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Participation in the Willem C. Vis Commercial Arbitration Moot Court; as part of the team of the University of Vienna. The participation fosters the study of international commercial law and the CISG through its application to a fictitious case. In the course of the Moot Court, participants are required to write two memoranda and prepare the pleading for the finale, taking place in Vienna the week before Easter.

Individual coaching in the written and oral phase; participation in various Pre-Moots.

Assessment and permitted materials

Joint research and writing of the memoranda for the claimant's and the respondent's position to be handed in in December and January respectively (winter term); preparation of the oral pleadings (summer term). The use of all online and offline tools for drafting the pleadings is expressly encouraged.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Course evaluation: Participation in both the written (winter term) and oral phase (summer term) of the Moot Court.
