Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The course is designed for students in the first stage of study to prepare for the module examination in "Legal and Constitutional History". Using sources, thematic focal points from the section "Constitutional History" are discussed; this comprises about half of the entire module examination. To prepare for the "History of Private Law" part of the exam, it is recommended to attend a corresponding course.

Assessment and permitted materials

active participation in the discussions and two written tests. The only permitted aid is a bilingual dictionary (for people with non-German mother tongue).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

There will be two written test; for the final evaluation, the better test will be the basis (if the student has taken part only at one term, this term will be the basis). It is possible to better the evaluation up to two marks on the cause of active participation at the discussions. But it is not possible to change a negative evaluation into a positive only this way, e.g. one of the written tests have to be positive.
