Aims, contents and method of the course
The course addresses the area of banking resolution. This legal field focuses on the question of how banks that are plunged into a crisis can leave the financial market in an orderly manner.The aim of the course is to impart basic knowledge of the Austrian and European legal bases of the banking resolution regime and to critically examine selected topics. For this purpose, the lecturer will give an overview of the legal field in the beginning of the course. Subsequently, the topics of the course should be worked out on the basis of presentations by the students. The topics to be presented will include, for example, the organisational structure, the administrative cooperation in the resolution mechanism, fundamental rights aspects of resolution and legal protection. The final list of topics will be uploaded (moodle) in good time before the start of the course.Due to the current situation, the course will take place on BigBlueButton (moodle).
Assessment and permitted materials
Students have the opportunity to discuss selected topics in the form of a presentation. Students must also write a short paper (3-4 pages) on the topic of the presentation.Another essential part of the course is the participation of the students in the discussion in class.

Attendance during the entire course is compulsory.The overall grade is made up of the following components:
