Aims, contents and method of the course

The goal of this course is to discuss the bachelor theses written at the Department of Finance. Participating students will present their bachelor master thesis ideas and critically discuss and evaluate the scientific quality of the research presented by their fellow students. To guarantee a lively environment where students can get valuable feedback on their work, attendance is mandatory and students are expected to comment on other students' presentations.

Assessment and permitted materials

The assessment will be based on the presentation of the bachelor thesis and active participation in class.

Attendance mandatory

The grade of a participant depends on the originality of the student's proposal and his/her presentation (80%) and his/her active participation in class (20%).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

A necessary precondition for students to take part in this course is
the completion of the core phase, at least the modules of the core phase which are relevant to the topic of the bachelor thesis.
The lecture Introduction to Scientific Work (Die VO Einführung in das wissenschaftliche Arbeiten) must be completed before attending the Bachelor Seminar.
There will be a "pass" or "fail" decision. To pass, students need to be present in all meetings and provide feedback on the fellow students' presentations attended.
