Aims, contents and method of the course

Aims:
Imparting Foundations of Information Technology for students of International Business Administration and Business Administration.

Contents:
General introduction to Information Technology
IT infrastructure: hardware components and their functionality
IT based communication: hardware view, communication view, social media view, IoT, Industry 4.0
Enterprise modeling: BPMS-paradigm, basics of business process modeling
Database systems and data modeling: Entity-Relationship model, relational model, normalization, SQL
Programming: algorithms, propositional logic
Programming practice: HTML, CSS, XML, Javascript, PHP
Business information systems: ERP, CRM, ...
Data security: backup, IT security, malware, cryptography

Online lecture including examples
Systems demonstrations
Multimedia applications (video)

Assessment and permitted materials

Multiple choice exam
A separate U: SPACE registration is required for the exam (via U: SPACE in the "WIWI exams" cluster)!

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

– Contents: 40 questions
– Duration: 80 minutes
– Examination material: identical for the 3 dates of the regular semester
– Assessment: 1 point for each completely correctly answered question
