Aims, contents and method of the course

Aims:
After this course students will be able to understand how (SAP) ERP systems work and what their benefits are. The focus will be on logistical processes. Still, the integration into financial accounting and controlling will also be thematized. A completion of this course can provide a start into working as SAP consultant. In addition, a certificate will be handed out to everyone who completed this course. This certificate can be added to your CV.

• Actual Logistics Case Study on a SAP S/4 HANA System
• Organizational Structures
• Master Data
• Introduction into Materials Management (MM)
• Introduction into Production Planning (PP)
• Introduction into Sales and Distribution (SD)
• Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
• Available to Promise (ATP)
• Demand Planning

Methods:
The course will be a mixture of theoretical content and practical usage of a SAP S/4 HANA system. A case study will be executed with you being the procurement specialist, production controller, sales person and so on. Practical insights into consulting and how SAP implementation projects are executed will be shown. By the end of this course you will understand how ERP systems work and what their benefits are.

Assessment and permitted materials

To finish this course, you have to participate actively in all sessions, hand in your homework / in-class assignment and complete the oral exam.

There will be a catalogue of questions handed out in the last session. This catalogue of questions will be discussed very thoroughly until there is enough clarity among all participants.

• 25 % Participation
• 25 % In-Class Assignment / Homework
• 50 % Oral Exam

For the homework / in-class assignment all materials provided (slides etc.) can be used. During the oral exam no additional materials can be used.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Attendance is mandatory in all sessions. The same applies to passing the exam and finishing your homework / in-class assignment.
