Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The course will cover the main topics in organizational economics from the different views on the nature of the firm to the allocation of power and control within organizations.

Assessment and permitted materials

The assesments will be based mainly on a Midterm and a Final (40% each). Students will also get up to 20% of their grades depending on class participation and assignments. It is compulsory to take both the Midterm and the Final in order to pass the course.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The aim is to provide the student with an up-to-date knowledge of the different theories and views that economists hold about the nature, purpose and internal organization of modern firms.

Examination topics

Lectures will cover the main theories. There will also be some time allocated to exercises, readings and discussions related to those theories.
