Aims, contents and method of the course

Exercise class accompanying the lecture "Mathematik 1".

Assessment and permitted materials

50% of the given exercises need to be prepared in order to pass the course. Participants will be randomly selected to present their solutions.
The grading will be based upon the presentation and the percentage of prepared exercises, for which the grading scheme is as follows:
0% - 49,5% Grade 5
50% - 62% Grade 4
62,5% - 74,5% Grade 3
75% - 87% Grade 2
87,5% -100% Grade 1

If a participant marked an exercise as completed, but did in fact not do it, none of the exercises from the respective session will count towards the participant's grade.

Every additional (positively evaluated) presentation of an exercise will improve the grade.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

At least 50% of the exercises marked as completed and 2 positively graded presentations.

Examination topics

The exercises, based on the topics discussed during the lectures will be provided on Moodle:

      Aims, contents and method of the course

      VO and UE should be attended in the same semester.
      ------------------
      The objective of the course is to strengthen the content of the accompanying lecture (VO Mathematik 1) by solving examples. The students are supposed to prepare the given examples in advance and to tick the prepared examples on the given list on the moodle page of the course on time (deadlines will be announced on moodle). The ticked off examples will be presented at the blackboard by the students. An example should be presented such that colleagues who did not solve that example are able to understand it. All single steps for solving an example need to be explained during a presentation.
      The examples will be announced on the moodle page of the course (in detail) and also on the moodle page of the accompanying lecture VO Mathematik 1.
      ATTENTION: THE ATTENDANCE OF THE FIRST LECTURE IS MANDATORY!

      Assessment and permitted materials

      Ticking, elaboration and presentation of examples;
      Submission of all worked out examples in a folder.

      Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

      At least half of the examples must be prepared, at least two examples must be presented in the course of the exercise and uploaded in a nicely worked out form;
      Improvement of grades through the presentation of further examples.

      Examination topics

      Given examples from the collection of exercises for the course.

      Aims, contents and method of the course

      The aim of this course is to learn to solve and present concrete exercises accompanying the lecture.

      The exercises are based on the course "VO Mathematics 1".

      The course is held only **online**. The platform (BigBlue Button, Jitsi, Zoom, etc.) will be announced before the first date of the course.

      Assessment and permitted materials

      A minimum of 50% of the given exercises must be prepared and crossed in Moodle. During the course each exercise from the exercise sheet will be presented by one or more students having crossed it. There will be a deadline for crossing **before** the dates of the course. Since the course is online, a PDF document of the elaboration / notes must be uploaded to Moodle within the deadline mentioned above. Only the uploaded files can be used for the presentation of the exercises via screenshare.

      **Attention**: During the presentation, the students need to have knowledge in the broader area / topic that is dealt with in the exercise. Therefore, questions about other problems related to the exercise can be asked.

      If an example is crossed that obviously has not been prepared, it can be revoked.

      As soon as at least one exercise of a date is crossed, attendance is mandatory!

      Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

      The minimum requirements for a positive grade are:

      * > 50% of the exercises crossed
      * >= 2 times presented exercise
      * The majority of all presentations must be positive

      At the end of the course there is a grade for the presentations and a grade for the crossed exercises. The overall grade results from these two grades.

      In order to ensure a fair assessment, the arithmetic mean is not necessarily used. If the presentation performance is consistently poor with many crossed exercises or consistently good with few crossed exercises, this individual situation is included in the assessment.

      Examination topics

      The material of the course corresponds to the material of the associated lecture. In the current course date, you need to know everything in the area of the exercise that has been done in the lecture by then.

      The exercise sheets will be published on the Moodle site in advance.
