Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This course is the basis for subsequent courses in the minor "Operations Research". Besides giving a general introduction into the field, fundamental methods and techniques from linear programming (LP), nonlinear programming (NLP) and integer programming (IP) are discussed.

Assessment and permitted materials

written exams (midterm, endterm) together with presentations of exercises at the blackboard. Mandatory attendance in the first lecture!

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Knowledge of basic methods from mathematical programming as well as the ability to formulate simple examples as (integer) linear programs.

Examination topics

The content discussed by the lecturer as well as the additional exercises.

Reading list

Slides of the lectures (which contain references to additional literature) will be provided via moodle.
