Aims, contents and method of the course

This course serves as a basis for subsequent courses in the Minor "Operations Research".
Besides giving a general introduction to the field, fundamental methods and techniques from linear programming (LP), integer linear programming (ILP), and nonlinear programming (NLP) are discussed.

Assessment and permitted materials

- Test (endterm)
- exercises prepared at home and (partially) presented by students

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

- attendance is only required in the first lecture
- points are collected in the test (70), and by the presentation of exercises (30)
- the grade is determined by the total number of points:
89 - : 1
76 - 88: 2
63 - 75: 3
50 - 62: 4
0 - 49: 5
