Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
Instead of a mid-term test, you will have a lesson full of exercises and small tests in form of different games. The final score of yours will be based on your attendance rate (10%), your active group exercise (in form of group presentations, 30%), exercises in class (in form of games and interactions with the teacher, 20%) and the final test (40%).
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
There is a strict regulation about your attendance rate. Absence more than 3 times will lead to a final grade of 5.
Examination topics
You will randomly choose one topic from five and prepare that with your partner (which is also randomly arranged) for five minutes and finish a small dialogue with him, using the structures and words as required.

The course will remain digital till January 6th 2022.Update (20th November 2021):
The course will be switched into online form 22nd November 2021 to 12th December 2021. Further information due to COVID19 will be updated asap. All materials will be found on Moodle Platform. This course will focus on small dialogues of Chinese in 1a level. You will use the knowledge that you learned in Modern Chinese 1a to do small talks with your teacher, deskmate or in small groups. At the end of the semester, you will be able to greet someone, introduce yourself, to ask different questions in Chinese and know how to answer them as well.
On Moodle-Platform you will find the learning materials one week before the course starts. The learning materials contain small standard dialogues with new words and structures that you learned from each lesson of Modern Chinese 1a and some other additional words and structures besides the knowledge of Modern Chinese 1a.
You should be able to recgonize the sentences spoken by other students or the teacher, react with the correct structure and words, also make sure to pronunce them correctly (based on your knowledge of Speaking Lab)The course will be held on-site.Regarding the learning of Speaking Practice, necessary materials will be uploaded on Moodle. Please make sure you know the basic functions of Moodle platform such as homework assignment, BBB room (in case of online course) ,etc.
The presentation of small talks during the semester is very important (30% of your final score will base on that). Please avoid using new words that we haven't learned yet in this semester.
