Aims, contents and method of the course
You are strongly recommended to take this course at the same time that you take UK Applied Macroeconomics! The course covers the core areas and concepts of macroeconomics discussed in the UK Applied Macroeconomics, and has two main goals: students will familiarize themselves with macroeconomic data and their sources, and will learn to process and analyze them (at an elementary level) in order to address questions of importance from a macroeconomic perspective. For this purpose, students will carry out several empirical projects and address a set of questions.
Assessment and permitted materials
Students will be evaluated on the basis of the six projects mentioned above (84%) and their participation in class (16%). All projects will carry equal wait towards the course’s grade.
Examination topics
The grading of the projects will be based on both their quantitative implementation and their theoretical discussion.
