Aims, contents and method of the course

You are strongly recommended to take this course at the same time that you take KU Applied Macroeconomics!

The course covers the core areas and concepts of macroeconomics discussed in the KU Applied Macroeconomics. Students will familiarize themselves with the mathematical tools required in the course, macroeconomic data and their sources, and the analysis of such data (at an elementary level). For this purpose, students will carry out a number of homeworks.

Information

Assessment and permitted materials

Students will be evaluated on the basis of the mentioned homework (84%) and their participation in class (16%). All homework will carry equal weight towards the course’s grade.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Students need to obtain at least an average of 50% to pass this course. 50% - 60% implies a 4; 60% - 70% a 3; 70% - 85% a 2; 85% or above a 1.

Examination topics

The grading of the homework will be based on both their implementation and their theoretical discussion.
